As shared in the June 10 post, it takes many volunteers to make swim team run smoothly.
A few helpful notes:
-My style is not to micromanage. If you have interest, please call or text me directly. You can also let the coaches know during practice, but the most effective way is to keep me in the loop.
-There are larger roles to help (serve on the board; take on a management of a specific task for the season) and there are less time consuming roles (volunteer at the meets, for example).
Here is the link to the 2025 volunteer sign ups. We will go over the roles tonight; and again on Monday. I understand that swim meets might feel intimidating if unfamiliar, but I promise that on Tuesday all will go smoothly. We have many veteran parents; the swimmingly system is intuitive. Every parent on our team already has the necessary skills to fill these meaningful roles:
If roles do not get filled, I will start following up with texts and calls on Monday to make sure we have all required spots. Each family is required to volunteer for at least 3 meets; and honestly, most of us volunteer at ALL meets for which we are present. We work to divide it up; we help watch each other's kids; we employ older swimmers to guide the younger swimmers, and so on. It is truly a communal effort. Older non-swimming teenagers may also volunteer.
Lastly, there is opportunity to volunteer to be the "volunteer coordinator." If you are interested in taking on this helpful role, please let me know.
Again, more on the meet details to come.
Call/text with questions!
Hilary
