Dolphin Update: July 14, 2025

Before we get to this week's meet, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ THROUGH THE CHAMPS/SEASON END UPDATE SENT OUT ON FRIDAY.

Our LAST dual meet is this Tuesday (tomorrow) at SCC. We will be hosting the Ashby Anacondas. Read on for details:

1)Tuesday Meet Details:

a) the forecast tomorrow is much like today, questionable and potentially hard to predict. Given I am both hosting the meet and sending communications to our team as well as coordinating with Ashby I cannot promise that I will be able to email updates in real time. PLEASE make sure you have the REMIND app downloaded and that you are receiving information from our team. If not, find a buddy that can text you directly please.

b) Arrival time is 4:30PM.

d) Post Meet Pizza Party: we will host our final night swim and pizza party. Reminder to venmo for past pizza parties, and to stay for our final home meet. Also consider bringing cash to tip Joe, our faithful snack bar server.

e) the swimmer line-up has been sync'd to the Swimmingly Fan App. Coaches will also have a paper copy at the end of practice tomorrow.

f) I am concerned about storms tomorrow. Please try not to bring tents if possible. We will rely on our club tables and umbrellas. If it should storm during the meet, we will need to exit the deck temporarily and it would be prudent not to have to worry about tents.

2) Upcoming Date Reminders:

a) JMU Godwin Champs Practice is Thursday July 24 from 7-8PM.

3) End of Season Coaches Gifts: our swim team budget is not as large as it needs to be to cover the time, energy and love our coaches put into our swimmers. We have been greatly blessed this year with a large staff of faithful coaches that have made this year run swimmingly. ;-) Each year parents generously donate money that goes specifically toward paying our dedicated junior coaches, as well as bonuses to our main coaching staff. Please venmo @Spotswood-Dolphins to contribute. ANY amount makes a significant difference to our limited budget and helps us reward and retain coaching talent from year to year!!
