Good Afternoon! Thank you for your patience with the last minute cancellation of swim team this morning. The pool had to be closed for the day to address an issue that impacted the chlorine levels, which also means no PM practice for today. I will be in touch asap regarding Tuesday AM practice. MEET #2 Info: we will be AT BROADWAY, AND IN PERSON! Please plan to arrive at Broadway by 5pm. Some things to note: -Have swim suit, towels, goggles, caps, etc... -Bring chairs to sit in or blankets to spread out -Packs snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, etc... -WRITE YOUR SWIMMER's NUMBER vertically down their left arm, and write their events on their hand (I will send out line up tonight) -Volunteers, please bring your charged devices. -I will have tattoos ready too. :-) 1) Junior Dolphins - given two cancellations, please know that we will work to make these up. You are welcome to bring your child on M, Tu, W, or Th to make up for lost time. Please coordinate with coach Amelia (and/or contact me) so we can plan to have extra help as needed. 2) Meet Sign Outs: as always, please make sure you sign your swimmers out of the meet if you are unable to attend this week. Please do so by 5PM on Monday. Also, with virtual meets we need more people to fill the roles that the other team would normally assume. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508094EAFA623A6FC1-meet1 4) The deadline for the senior VSL scholarship must be postmarked by July 15. All seniors should make sure they complete this action by that date if they want to be considered for this scholarship. 5) Champs: the VSL has voted to attempt champs at JMU on July 31. If you have an opinion about that (for or against) please share with me. Also, begin thinking about heat sheet ads for champs. These are a fundraiser for our team, and it is also the team job for champs this year. 6) Policy for Meet participation: all swimmers must be able to complete their event in less than 90 seconds in order to participate in the meet. ALSO RECALL: to be eligible to swim for champs, swimmers must participate in 2 out of 5 regular season swim meets.
