Dolphin Update: July 25, 2024

Half of our final summer week is behind us, with a few more action packed days to go!

1. Schedule Reminders for July 25 through July 27th:
   

   1. The End of Season Celebration (historically called the banquet) is tonight. 6PM at the club. We will serve dinner, have announcements and awards, make posters to decorate our set up space at champs, and make our way up to the pool (weather permitting). Our committee has done a wonderful job planning for this event and the cost will be about $10pp. If this is a problem, please let me know.

   2. Fun Friday Practice: our coaches have a great morning of fun and games planned for our team, and we will enjoy bagels one more time! Thank you to all parents who have helped to provide the delicious, harrisonburg classic treats for our team!

   3. Champs: it can be as fun as it is overwhelming, and as overwhelming as it is fun! It is a GREAT day to witness a season of hard work pay off for every team and every individual. Please let us know if you need or want extra support/guidance/assistance, etc...

2. End of Season Wrap Up: I wish the swim team had the budget to cover all the costs for all the things! As we establish the new leadership board/structure for the team, we will consider best practices around fees and such (whether to continue the a la carte approach or to increase up front fee for more inclusion). For now, please make sure you have "settled up" with the team for any fees that apply to you (cash, check, venmo to @Spotswood-Dolphins, last four digits 7476).

      1. Non-member team fees ($100)

      2. Post meet pizza parties ($5 per person, up to $20 per family max).

      3. Banquet ($10 per person)
         

      4. Swim-a-thon funds that your swimmer raised

      5. Heat Sheet Ad Purchases

3. There will one more season update next week, which will include a feedback form. This will provide the new board with data that we can purpose to make sure the team experience is enhanced and optimized. More details to come.
