Updated: Jun 22
Our first dual meet of the 2026 summer season has arrived. Please read through the following details to make sure you are fully prepared. What you need to know:
Meet Lineup (i.e. How will I know what my child is swimming?)
This information will be synced to your SwimminglyFAN app as soon as entries are merged (either late tonight or early tomorrow morning).
UPDATE: it has been synced to your app
It can also be found by clicking this link:
I will also send out a digital copy of the heat sheet and lineup by swimmer name as soon as I have PDFs available.
Coaches may have paper copies of the heat sheet at practice, but it depends on timing. NOTE: AM PRACTICE IS CANCELLED FOR TUESDAY JUNE 23 (due to weather).
If you have questions or concerns about what your child is swimming, please communicate directly with Coach Alexis. Swimming items are her jurisdiction but she will make me aware of items on an as needed basis.
if your child was accidentally not entered into events or needs to change something, please know this is easily remedied with the swimmingly system at the event.
If your child is entered into a relay, and is unsure of the stroke he or she will swim then we will inform your swimmer upon arrival at the meet.
Prior to arriving,
please remember to write swimmer numbers on the upper left arm, triathlon style, ex: S123, as well as event numbers of the back of one hand or forearm. You can find this information in your SwimminglyFAN app or on the digital swimmer line ups.
VOLUNTEER! We cannot complete this meet without help. Volunteers: please use the signup genius to fill the needed roles!
We still need: clerk of course assistant, relay take off judges (only events 1-7, 51-52 and 60-62), a first half stroke and turn or a second half stroke and turn. Sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0549AEAD28A1F5C07-57254589-2025#/
Stroke and turn judges: remember to complete the training video, please!
Link to flyer with QR codes for training and volunteer sign up is also located on our website blog here: https://www.spotswooddolphins.com/post/volunteer-guide
Please make sure your devices are fully charged prior to arrival.
Please arrive to ERRA AT 5PM.
ERRA address is 1250 Barracuda Drive.
Parking is ample, but with their large team the spaces fill up and so many must park around the drive and walk up to the pool. Give yourself plenty of time to arrive and check in.
Please check in when you arrive. Coaches will have gone over this with swimmers.
Our team will begin warmups in swimming lanes promptly at 5:25PM.
Volunteer meetings will be hosted at 5:40PM.
ERRA is the host team, and will have concessions for sale. They did not have a menu available at the time of writing this update. You may want to bring money to purchase food and drinks for sale. You can also pack your own.
What to bring? Lists were previously distributed on printed handouts and can also be found on our website blog here. Obvious are: team suits, goggles, towels, chairs, snacks: https://www.spotswooddolphins.com/post/swim-meet-guide
Coaches have also created themes for each meet. Tomorrow is Luau themed! Bring your blue Hawaiian gear if you so desire.
ERRA is a very large team and as a small team, we will do a fair amount of watching them swim against themselves. Please do pay attention to the clerk of course signage, and maintain positive sporting attitudes that are reflective of the Spotswood Dolphins spirit!
Meet conduct: it is VERY IMPORTANT that all present follow proper protocol during meets. If you have a question or concern, you must voice it directly to our team Coach or to me as the meet director. Parents should NOT approach any other officials, such as representatives for the other team, stroke and turn officials, etc...
The meet should end by 9PM at the latest. Your swimmer is able to depart as soon as his/her events are complete, however - please stay if you can volunteer to serve our team.
Weather: There is currently a chance of thunderstorms in the forecast.
If thunder or lightning occurs, we will follow ERRA pool rules regarding inclement weather. In the event of lightning, the pool deck must be cleared and swimmers will be asked to report to their vehicles while we observe the required 30-minute waiting period.
Per VSL rules, all meets must begin by 7:00 PM and conclude by 10:00 PM. However, ERRA does not have pool lights and typically must end swimming activities by approximately 9:30 PM, even if weather delays the start of the meet.
Once a meet has progressed beyond Event 31, it is up to the discretion of the Meet Directors whether to continue the meet or call it due to weather or time constraints.
If weather prevents the meet from taking place Tuesday evening, it may be postponed to Wednesday or Thursday. We will communicate any schedule changes as quickly as possible through email, the website, and team communication channels.
Please make sure you have the Remind App downloaded and that you have texted @sccd2026 to 81010 to join the "class" to receive notifications. Also, check your email for updates through swimmingly, should a real-time delay occur.
As a reminder: SCC Team Picture Makeups will occur Wednesday at both morning and evening practices. If you missed the first option, please make every effort to be there!
